At Smaller Scholars Montessori Academy, our trained, qualified and caring staff takes a hands-on Montessori approach to learning and provides quality programming and dedicated teachers for children 18 months to 12 years old. Due to our individualized instruction, you may apply for entry at any time.

Philosophy
The basic idea of the Montessori philosophy of education is that all children carry within themselves the person they will become. In order to develop their physical, intellectual, and spiritual potential, the children must have freedom, which is achieved through order and self-discipline.

I have 2 boys currently attending Smaller Scholars, Dairy Ashford. One started when he was 3 and the other when he was 18 months. I love the School safe and nurturing feel. It is helping my boys develop a sense of a global community and also to respect others and the environment. The staff is terrific, both of their teachers are awesome (Ms. Bahuvnita and Ms. Marshall) along with their assistants. I have been an EC-4 teacher for 11 years in the public system and one thing I love about Montessori is that they expect the child to master each concept and not just expose them to the curriculum. The way this system approaches literacy development and math concepts at their early age is impressive. We are happy parents at SSMA.
